Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang has been cleared to resume workouts. Letang suffered a concussion during a game in late March, and missed the rest of the season, including the playoffs. He was one of several Penguins players who suffered significant setbacks health-wise last season. Letang had 54 points in 69 games last season for the Pens.
The New Jersey Devils will hold a press conference today to announce their next head coach. It is widely believed that coach will be John Hynes of the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Baby Penguins. He has led the Penguins top minor league club over the past five seasons, becoming their all-time wins leader. Former Penguins general manager Ray Shero currently leads New Jersey in the same capacity.
