The PIAA Baseball playoffs begin today. The Knoch Knights, who won their first WPIAL championship this year, will face Punxsutawney this afternoon at North Allegheny high school. Game time is 4pm. The Knights are 19-2 this season. Punxsutawney is 19-1.
The PIAA Softball tournament also begins today. Moniteau will face Everett at Chestnut Ridge high school today at 4:30pm in a Double-A first round game. WPIAL champion Deer Lakes will meet Marion Center at Fox Chapel high school beginning at 3pm.
The Seneca Valley boys volleyball team defeated Central York 3-1 in the opening round of the state championships. The Raiders will WPIAL champion Fox Chapel Tuesday at North Allegheny high school in the quarterfinals.
