Butler Township recently parted ways with the employee hired last month to manage parks.
Ashley Helmstaedter worked for about three weeks as the Township’s Director of Parks and Recreation, a full-time position responsible for managing Butler Township’s parks events, rental of facilities, and promoting increased opportunities.
According to Township Manager Tom Knights, she was then contacted by Butler County with an offer to return to her previous position as Assistant Director of Butler County Parks which she decided to take.
For now, Knights will continue as the person responsible for scheduling township facilities like the recreation field at Pullman Business Park. The Township could revisit another hire for this position later in the fall.
