The Cleveland Guardians completed at three-game series sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates following a 5-4 victory in 10-innings Sunday afternoon at PNC Park. The Pirates had tied the game with three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Bucs ended the game with 11 hits, but went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position.
Reliever Dennis Stratton allowed the unearned winning run in the 10th.
Starting pitcher Mitch Keller allowed two earned runs over five innings.
Cleveland won Saturday’s game 3-0 and defeated the Pirates 10-7 Friday night.
The Pirates are off today and begin a six-game road trip Tuesday night with the first of three games against the Los Angeles Angels.
They are now 8-15 this season.
The Pirates brought reliever David Bednar back to the big leagues over the weekend. He pitched a scoreless inning Saturday with two strikeouts.
