A couple of local high schools will be participating in a gladiator-style robot competition open to the public beginning today.
The 20th annual Southwestern Pennsylvania BotsIQ finals competition kicks off with an opening ceremony at 9 a.m. at PennWest California before wrapping up Saturday. The finals are free and open to the public
Over 600 students from nearly 50 schools across the region have spent the last few months building robots to compete, including teams from Freeport Area High School and Seneca Valley Senior High School.
The competition draws on students’ knowledge of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) subjects. Visit the BotsIQpa website for more information.
