Several elementary school students from Mars are recovering this morning after a serious school bus crash yesterday.
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Three Degree Road. Video from the scene shows the school bus going off the road, up a small hill, and crashing into a tree.
Police say seven students were taken to the hospital, but all are out and recovering. The driver was bleeding and unconscious when crews initially arrived. He was taken to a Pittsburgh trauma center and remains hospitalized this morning.
Mars School District officials say there were around 20 students on the bus at the time of the crash.
The school will also be offering counseling services for students.
Police are investigating if the driver had a medical emergency.
