A local municipality has been awarded a state grant to improve local traffic conditions.
Center Township will receive approximately $564,000 in grants through the PennDOT Automated Red Light Enforcement program.
The money will be used to replace the traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Route 8 and Beech Road to meet current operational and safety standards.
A total of 25 municipalities across the state received a combined over $20 million to fund 31 safety projects. Grant funding is received from red light violation fines with a goal of improving regional safety.
