The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced that the new electric vehicle charging station in Butler County is operational.
PennDOT received a large amount of money last year from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and about $630,000 was designated to add a charging station at Love’s Travel Stop in Slippery Rock off I-79.
This is one of 11 projects selected in western PA. Each station will have four federally compliant charging ports capable of providing at least 300 kW of power under weather-protective canopies.
The Slippery Rock station is the fifth National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure location to become operational statewide.
