The Salvation Army is nearly ready to kick off their Red Kettle campaign.
The annual fundraiser starts Saturday in order to coincide with the holiday shopping season, as the famous red kettles and bell ringers will be present outside many area stores.
This year, the Western Pennsylvania Salvation Army has set a goal of raising $2.342 million across the 28 counties in the region.
The organization is also welcoming volunteers to help ring bells through the end of the campaign on December 24th. Visit the Register to Ring website or contact the local Salvation Army for more information.
Donations can also be made online through the Salvation Army of Western Pennsylvania website with proceeds benefitting feeding initiatives, rent and utility assistance, seasonal assistance, youth empowerment and spiritual programs.
