After splitting with the joint police force in Seven Fields, Evans City is bringing back a local police force.
Evans City officials say they have created a “hybrid force” that utilizes two officers that patrol the borough.
The part-time officers work eight-hour shifts in the borough. The officers are from other police forces from around the area.
Officials say they are looking at how this policing model works, while continuing conversations with other municipalities about police coverage.
