Butler County is updating their Right-to-Know policy.
County officials say they’ve seen an uptick in right-to-know requests over the last three years. This year alone there has been over 300 requests submitted.
The county used to hire outside counsel to help with the requests, however for the last two years they have been able to handle everything in-house.
The county will now require a check box that confirms that applicant is “not a robot.”
Officials say that they’ve had a number of increases in A.I. requests, which they believe to be a part of a mass data collection effort.
