The Mars community is mourning the loss of a student.
Alex Kinch was a junior at Mars High School who passed away unexpectedly this week.
Kinch was a member of the boys soccer team and also was a junior firefighter with the Adams Township Fire District.
A moment of silence honoring Alex was held at a playoff soccer game earlier this week.
Counseling services are being offered to students at Mars according to district officials.
