A decision by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court will allow voters who made a mistake on their mail-in ballot to vote provisionally.
The 4-3 decision was the result of a lawsuit filed by two voters in Butler County who were alerted during the primary that they made a mistake with their mail-in ballot by not including the secrecy envelope.
Those voters then cast a provisional ballot at their precinct, but ultimately those votes were not allowed by the county’s election board.
Now, under the ruling, those provisional ballots will count.
Election officials remind mail-in voters to make sure they follow the directions carefully.
