Pennsylvania’s top attorney has joined a coalition of state Attorney Generals in a lawsuit defending a Department of Housing and Urban Development Discriminatory Effects Rule.
The HUD rule ensures that all homeowners will have access to insurance regardless of class or ethnicities.
A challenge from the homeowner’s insurance industry says that HUD should have allowed for an exemption when dealing with state-level insurance laws and regulations conflicts.
Attorney Michelle Henry says the coalition is “standing up for homeowners who could be harmed by discriminatory practices.”
19 other state AGs have joined the coalition.
