Independence Health System is improving imaging capabilities using new technology.
In August, Butler Memorial Hospital installed the Siemons SOMATOM Force dual-source computed tomography CT Scanner.
The new equipment will allow for 4D and dual-energy spectral imaging with low radiation and high accuracy to view internal body structures and monitor medical conditions like heart disease and fractures.
This device uses freeze motion technology to provide for entire chest, abdomen, and pelvis scans on an adult in just one second which helps those who are not able to hold their breath.
