Grant applications are now open for the Rail Transportation Assistance Program (RTAP) and the Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP).
Pennsylvania has the most operating railroads in the country with 65 that span more than 5,600 miles. Last year $42.5 million was given out for 25 rail freight projects.
Applications can be submitted now through August 30 to Harrison Warren at [email protected] and Steve Panko at [email protected].
Both RTAP and RFAP provide financial assistance for investment in rail freight infrastructure with “the intent of preserving essential rail freight service and stimulating economic growth through new or expanded rail freight service.”
