Slash is about to launch his blues-focused S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival tour, in support of his chart-topping solo album, Orgy of the Damned. In a new interview with People from the Gibson Garage in Nashville, the Guns N’ Roses guitar legend shared that while he loves writing and recording music in the studio, he gets the most satisfaction from playing live. Slash said, “The biggest driver for me” is “to go out and perform.” “As much as I love to write and come up with new ideas and go into the studio and record something and the satisfaction of doing something that you’re pleased with and all that, it’s all been a means as an end,” Slash continued. “I love playing. I love every aspect of what that’s all about. The part that really drives me is that I love to be able to go out and play in front of an audience.” The 29-date S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival tour starts on Friday, July 5 in Bonner, Montana. (People)
