Halestorm‘s Lzzy Hale played her first show as Skid Row’s temporary new lead singer over the weekend. Hale has stepped in to front the band following the departure of Skid Row’s former vocalist, Swedish singer Erik Grönwall, who stepped away from the group due to health issues. The band’s current run of four shows is now being billed as the “Skid Row x Lzzy Hale” tour. The two weekend shows in Illinois and Iowa were apparently well received by fans, and featured all of Skid Row’s beloved glam metal hits.
The band’s final encore, “Youth Gone Wild,” even featured a guest appearance from Halestorm guitarist (and Lzzy’s partner) Joe Hottinger. The two upcoming performances of Skid Row x Lzzy Hale will take place on May 31st in Reno, Nevada, and on June 1st in Sacramento, California. No word yet as to who will permanently take over Skid Row’s lead singer responsibilities in the future. (Consequence of Sound)
