Federal officials say a man who was arrested nearly four years ago on drug charges has been sentenced to additional prison time.
According to the Department of Justice, 23-year-old Jamir Hughes formerly of Delaware County will serve five years for possession with intent to distribute drugs such as fentanyl and cocaine.
Hughes was stopped by State Police while traveling from Philadelphia to Butler County on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Somerset County in May of 2020.
The Butler County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force helped the State Police and FBI with this investigation.
Hughes was convicted in two different prosecutions last year for charges including third-degree murder and robbery resulting in his current incarceration for at least 30 years.
