Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters along with Scott Ian and Charlie Benante of Anthrax, have released a cover of the Bad Brains’ classic song, “The Regulator.”
They recorded the 1982 classic last year in Grohl’s Studio 606 in just 2 takes. They used their last name initials to title their band, calling themselves… G.B.I.
Released for Record Store Day over the weekend, the seven-inch single, was limited to 6,000 copies. They also shot a video, which is made up of footage of the actual recording of the song and can be found online.
There was a reason they chose this song. Proceeds will go directly to Paul H.R. Hudson, singer for Bad Brains, who has been suffering from a rare head affliction known as SUNCT. It causes excruciating headaches.
