Metallica frontman James Hetfield now has a tattoo that contains the ashes of Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister.
along with a photo, Hetfield posted about it on Instagram and said: “Without him, there would be NO Metallica. Black ink mixed with a pinch of his cremation ashes that were so graciously given to me… So now, he is still able to fly the bird at the world.”
He was referring to the tat being on his middle finger. The image of an Iron Cross and Spade is on his right hand, between his knuckle and nail.
Just after Lemmy’s death, Metallica paid tribute to him on their album, Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. Lemmy died of cancer on December 28, 2015.
