Bruce Springsteen is set to become a Fellow of The Ivors Academy, making him the first international songwriter to ever receive the honor.
The award recognizes his “outstanding contribution to the craft of songwriting” and impact on the UK cultural landscape.
Becoming an Academy Fellow is the highest honor the organization bestows. About that, Springsteen said: “The award stands as a tribute to the fans and friends who have supported me and my work for the last fifty years. This entire country has made me feel welcome every step of the way, and for this, I will always remain deeply appreciative.”
Past inductees include Sir Paul McCartney, Kate Bush, and Sting.
