Former Journey frontman, Steve Perry took to social media to share his reaction to “Don’t Stop Believin,'” being titled as the “biggest song of all time,” Named that by Forbes magazine, after it reached 18-times platinum.
Perry said that when the article came out, he was “emotionally stunned.” And it made him think of his parents. He said: “By that I mean, though I lost them both years ago, I was so happy for them because they are truly the reason this is happening. My dad was a singer and both of them were very musical.
He went on to thank them and said: “So on behalf of my Mom and Dad, I thank every one of you for so many years of support.”
“Don’t Stop Believin” was on the Escape album and released in 1981. It was written by Journey members Perry, Neal Schon, and Jonathan Cain. At the time it was released, Steve Perry was 32, he’s now 75..
