Alabama head football coach Nick Saban has announced his retirement. The 72-year old Saban has won seven national championships, more than any other major college football coach. Since taking over the Crimson Tide program in 2007, Saban has a 206-29 record and won six of his national titles. Overall, he has a 291-71-1 record with head coaching positions at Toledo, Michigan State and LSU – where he won his first national championship.
Pete Carroll is out as the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks after 14 seasons. The Seattle organization wanted to make a change in leadership, and the 72-year old Carroll will step down from that job and will be elevated to a front office position.
There are currently seven head coaching vacancies in the NFL.
