The Pittsburgh Pirates have avoided salary arbitration with starting pitcher J.T. Brubaker and agreed to a $2.2 million contract, the same amount as the 2023 season. Brubaker will be coming off Tommy John surgery and hopes to return after the All-Star break. The 30-year old was the Pirates opening day starting pitcher last season. He went 3-12 with a 4.69 ERA over 28 starts in 2022.
