The Pittsburgh Penguins dominated last night in their first game back after a three-day break, defeating the New York Islanders 7-0. Throughout the game, there were three major milestones achieved by Penguin players. Kris Letang became the first defenseman in NHL history to record five points in a period, which he achieved in the 2nd. Valtteri Puutstinen scored his first career goal for the Pens in the 3rd period, and Evgeni Malkin took second place in goals all time among Russians. The Penguins will play again this Saturday at 7:00 taking on the St. Louis Blues.
