Students from Seneca Valley High School are being recognized and considered for prestigious scholarships.
Seniors Lucas Boyle, Alexander Kim, and Shivani Umesh are semifinalist in the 69th Merit Scholarship Program. The scholarship recognizes “their exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.”
There are over 7,000 scholarships worth $28 million available to students from over 21,000 high schools.
Currently there are 16,000 semifinalist and 15,000 students are expected to advance to the next stage. Students will be provided the scholarships next spring as they decide on future plans.
Also recognized are seniors Lydia Miller and Lihini Ranaweera as Commended Student in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program for their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry.
