A new feature at the waterpark in Cranberry is on tap to be ready for next summer.
Officials with the township say the sand play area at the waterpark is causing issues with the pump system, and also has become a nesting home to bees.
With the play area at the end of its life expectancy, the board of supervisors will consider a plan to add a splash pad in its place. The area would be primarily for 2 to 5 year-olds, and would have small slides and shade coverings.
The board will vote on the proposal at their meeting tomorrow. If approved, officials hope for the splash pad to be ready by May 2024.
