The Minnesota Twins defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-0 Sunday afternoon. The Pirates were held hitless into the seventh inning by Twins starter Dallas Keuchel, until Bryan Reynolds hit a double, ending the bid for a perfect game. Reynolds collected both of the Pirates hits in the game.
Minnesota starter Sonny Gray retired the first 16 Pirates batters to start Saturday’s game. The Pirates rebounded to win that game 7-4. They lost 5-1 Friday after going 1-for-14 with runners in scoring position in that game.
The Pirates open a seven-game home-stand tonight at PNC Park when they host the St. Louis Cardinals. Game time is 7:05pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 6:40pm.
