The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Minnesota Twins 7-5 in their final preseason game in Florida. Johan Oveido, who will begin the regular season in the Pirates starting rotation, pitched five innings, allowing two runs. He did not walk a batter and struck out seven. He struck out seven in back-to-back starts, and had a 2.93 ERA over his past four starts in Grapefruit League play. The Pirates ended the spring 9-18-4 overall, and went 0-5-1 in their final six games.
The Bucs open their season tomorrow afternoon in Cincinnati. Game time is 4:10pm. Hear the game on WISR beginning at 3:45pm.
