Gas prices have remained mostly even both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, remained steady over the past week at $3.71 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole dropped by a penny over the same period of time to reach $3.76. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.63, while the most expensive is $3.87 in Mercer.
The average national gas price increased by seven cents over the past week to reach $3.47 which is three cents more per gallon than a month ago but 79 cents less than one year ago.
Demand for gas dropped and the cost of oil also declined but the switch to more expensive summer blend gasoline adds an extra cost for motorists.
