Officials with the Salvation Army in Western Pennsylvania say this year’s fundraising effort fell short of their goal.
Before this past weekend began, the Salvation Army was at 69 percent of their $2.2 million target. Officials say the couple of days before Christmas are the largest donation days, but the cold and wintry weather caused fewer shoppers to be out and about.
While the Red Kettle campaign itself has ended, the Salvation Army is keeping its online donation drive up.
All donations done through Butler Radio go directly to the local Salvation Army on West Cunningham Street.
