The stock market rallied earlier this week to some of its biggest gains in months.
Local financial advisor Howie Pentony says that improvement was tied to positive news on inflation.
“The stocks were really cheap anyways, but I think inflation, which was at 7.7 percent in October being down from 9.1 back in June, made the market overdue and it did rally on the inflation news.
Pentony also says that typical trends of seasonal strength in the market are up in the air considering current economic conditions.
“This is a different market. We’ve never seen anything like this,” Pentony said. “There are so many reasons for the market to do poorly coming from different directions, it’s hard to believe it will. And that means it’ll probably do well.”
