The ongoing battle over the statewide school mask mandate has been settled as a result of a Pennsylvania Supreme Court decision on Friday.
The Court announced that they have affirmed the ruling of the state Commonwealth Court against the mask mandate that was put in place by the Acting Secretary of Health earlier this year.
Local attorneys won the initial case about constitutionality in front of the Commonwealth Court, but that the administration of Governor Tom Wolf appealed the decision to State Supreme Court.
The mask mandate was put back in place until the Supreme Court issued their decision. The current state local school mask mandates is unknown but most districts are expected to make masks optional.
