A Butler County company has been penalized as a result of a workplace accident that resulted in the death of an employee over three years ago.
The United States Department of Justice recently announced that Insight Pipe LLC, based in Harmony, will be placed on three years of probation and fined a total of $200,000.
In April of 2018, an Insight work crew was installing pipe in the Johnstown area when a piece of machinery came into contact with an energized power line and one of the workers was fatally electrocuted.
The sentencing judge acknowledged that Insight Pipe has taken measures to improve safety protocol following the accident.
