Gas prices have declined slightly this week both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by a penny over the past week to $3.56 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole fell by a cent during that same time to also reach $3.56. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $3.50 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.60 in Bradford.
The average national gas price dropped by four cents over the past week to $3.35. According to AAA, the price of crude oil continues to get pushed lower based on concern about another global economic shutdown. The decrease at the pump is also helped by a small decline in demand as well as a recent decision by OPEC not to cut production.
