One person died in a crash that happened Wednesday on I-79.
The three vehicle crash happened just before 5 p.m. in Muddy Creek Township near mile marker 97.
Police say a pickup truck driven by 58-year-old James Dapper crossed the southbound lane and went into the northbound lane, hitting an SUV driven by 58-year-old Harry Hibbard of Greenville. Hibbard was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dapper had to be flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center with serious injuries. His passenger, 25-year-old Damian Altman of Beaver Falls was taken to a hospital by ambulance.
A third vehicle was also involved in the crash, but the driver only suffered minor injuries.
Police did not say why Dapper crossed lanes.
