A new company will be taking over the printing and managed MFD contract for Butler County.
Commissioners approved an $87,248.55 deal with Ford Business Machines to take over the county’s printing program.
It wasn’t a unanimous vote however; Commissioners Leslie Osche and Kim Geyer opposed the initial vote to go with Toshiba. That contract was for $81,906.11 and was recommended by the county’s IT Director.
Another proposal came from Axis out of Butler for just over $92,000.
Osche and Geyer said they wanted a company with local ties, and Ford came strongly recommended by the Butler County Chamber of Commerce.
The previous contract with Xerox for $196,000 was not renewed.
