State Police are assisting with coverage in an Armstrong County borough that does not currently have any full-time police officers.
According to our news partners at WPXI, the borough of Freeport is currently without a full-time officer after their newly hired police chief quit on November 3rd following his first shift.
Officials say that the borough currently has one part-time officer who has not recently worked a shift in the borough due to other job obligations.
The borough’s council recently approved hiring two additional police officers, but those positions have not yet been filled.
