The Butler County Court of Common Pleas has a new judge in a longtime area attorney.
Joe Kubit won the open seat, after defeating independent challenger Jennifer Gilliland-Vanasdale by a 62 to 37 percent margin.
Kubit will join the court after longtime President Judge Tom Doerr opted not to seek re-election this year.
