A new park in Slippery Rock Township is nearing completion but more money is needed due to unforeseen construction issues.
Crews informed the Butler County Commissioners that some lines behind the community center on Branchton Road were improperly marked or not buried deep enough.
County officials do not believe that this additional work will impact the overall timeline of the project with completion expected in a couple of weeks.
The cost of this project comes from leftover CDBG funding—which is currently up to about $107,000 in funds for the park.
