A major accident shut down a stretch of I-79 in Jackson Township for hours Tuesday.
It happened around 10 a.m. on the southbound lane near the Evans City exit ramp.
Dispatchers say six vehicles, including an ambulance were involved in the crash. Multiple EMS crews were called to the scene along with the medical helicopter.
At least ten people were evaluated by EMS crews, and five were hurt.
Officials told our news partners at WPXI that it was “a miracle” no was died in the accident.
Crews reopened the highway a couple of hours later. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
