Governor Tom Wolf says Pennsylvania has reached a vaccination milestone.
There are now more than 70 percent of adults 18 and older in the state who are fully vaccinated.
Wolf says this is a critical milestone in the race to vaccinate, especially to help protect children under 12 who aren’t able to get the vaccine yet.
The latest update from the Department of Health however shows a growing number of COVID hospitalizations. There are 3,031 individuals being treated for COVID, and of that number, 678 patients are in the intensive care unit with COVID-19. Officials say that this continues a 14-day trend of rising hospitalizations.
Statewide percent positivity for the week of Oct. 1 – Oct. 7 stood at 9.6%.
