Pennsylvania is seeing its lowest numbers of prisoners in years.
Our news partners at WPXI report that there are currently just over 36,000 inmates serving time in jails across the state.
A significant reason behind the new total is the release of more than 8,300 people for COVID safety purposes.
This is the lowest total in Pennsylvania prisons since 2001.
