A local lawmaker will be speaking at a hearing later today in opposition to Pennsylvania joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
Republican State Senator Joe Pittman will speak at a meeting of the Independent Regulatory Review Commission at 10 a.m. in Harrisburg concerning the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
Pittman believes that joining would ignore the serious concerns expressed by local communities. RGGI establishes a regional cap on the amount of carbon dioxide pollution that power plants can emit by issuing a limited number of tradable CO-2 allowances.
This meeting will be livestreamed through the PAcast website.
