A Philadelphia man arrested last year as part of a drug ring in Butler County will serve time in prison.
23-year-old Nasir Sharpe was sentenced to 18 months in prison along with six years of supervised release.
Sharpe and eight other men in the “Overton Crew” were taken into custody in June of 2020 for conspiring to distribute at least 40 grams fentanyl, over 100 grams of heroin and cocaine beginning in 2017.
The Department of Justice says that Sharpe distributed drugs on a regular basis in Butler within 1,000 feet of a school and a playground. He was also charged in Philadelphia following a shootout on a public street in 2020 as well as firearm possession crimes in 2019.
The Butler County District Attorney Drug Task Force was joined by the FBI and the State Police in the investigation into the local crimes.
