Less than a week into the school year, the Freeport Area School District already has two dozen students in quarantine.
According to the district’s website, there are seven total active cases across the district. But, that’s put 24 students in quarantine along with one staff member.
The students range from elementary and high school ages, although most cases have happened at the elementary level.
Freeport did not require facemasks for students, but they are recommended.
