Solar energy is increasing its place in the energy market, and state lawmakers heard about its potential economic impacts at a hearing late last week.
It was an informational session for members of the House Consumer Affairs Committee that heard from advocates of solar power. State Representative Chris Quinn (R-Delaware) argued that the opportunity is ripe for major growth.
“Solar energy is a growing sector of our economy, and as our society continues to look for clean energy alternatives it will continue to grow,” Quinn said. “In fact, in the last decade the number of solar jobs nationwide has more than doubled and the industry will only continue.”
Other members of solar-affiliated energy groups also said that Pennsylvania can create more business and economic incentives to promote more people turning to solar energy.
