A new test for Lyme disease is being researched in Western Pennsylvania.
Researchers are taking part of a clinical study that could pave the way for a more efficient Lyme test. This would utilize T-cell analysis, which is similar to what was used last year to detect COVID infections.
Right now, patients who show the bullseye-rash get an FDA approved test, but the hope is a new test could make results more clear.
