Employees at Cleveland Cliffs in Butler are receiving a significant financial incentive to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to a press release, the organization that took over for AK Steel offered employees $1,500 if they got vaccinated.
Cleveland Cliffs are also an additional incentive that if 75 percent of their workforce was vaccinated, employees would get another $1,500.
CEO Lourenco Goncalves said “he appreciated efforts of local managers and union partners in making herd immunity a reality at their locations.”
29 of the 43 Cleveland Cliff locations reached the 75 percent threshold, although it’s unclear if Butler is included in that count.
